Oracle of Delphi to the Monastery of Osios Loukas to Athens

Ashley Hall at the Oracle of Delphi
The girls of Ashley Hall were on the move once again today. They began with a visit to the Museum at Delphi, one of the most important museums of the art of Classical Antiquity. They received an overview of the history of Greek art, and then they saw this art up close and personal.
The Charioteer of Delphi was just one of many famous works of art that the girls viewed.
They also saw this famous vase painting of Apollo, the god to who Delphi was sacred.
After lunch, the girls got some a little more time for shopping in the small town of Delphi.
Our guides took us to a store of a friend. There the girls bought many a gift for loved ones back home. Note to Moms and Dads . . . if you get some delicious olive oil or honey that was made local in Delphi, this was the store it came from.
Afterwards, we made another stop at a site in ancient Delphi.
Then it was time to board the bus for a ride to the beautiful monastery of Osios Loukas (St. Luke). Here the girls received an overview on the differences between Protestantism, Roman Catholicism, and the Eastern Orthodox Church.
They viewed Eastern Orthodox art and architecture that was some 1000 years old.
Then the girls said goodbye to the mountains of Delphi and headed to the metropolis of Athens.
After checking in, they headed to the pedestrian district near the Acropolis Museum for some food and and fun.

A little free time in the pedestrian district after dinner was welcomed by every girl.
Some even found the opportunity to do some shag dancing to the tunes of a street musician. One wonders if this ancient city has ever seen such dancing before. PQV to these girls for seizing the opportunity and throwing their inhibitions to the wind.
